Annual Meeting and Crab Feed – early January
Annual Meeting of the Club to review operations and successes of the previous year, introduce newly elected Members of the Club and vote on the Slate of new Board Members presented by the Nominating Committee. The Crab feed dinner follows – weather and crab supply permitting! LCC Members only.
Dominoes and Dinner – Sunday afternoon / evening in February or March
Bring a partner and break out the tiles! Spend a cozy yet competitive time vying for the title of Club Domino Champion and enjoy a lovely dinner. Members, LCC Guests and Guests welcome.
St Patrick’s Day Dinner – on or the Friday or Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day
A traditionally raucous celebration of the luck of the Irish. Don your green clothes, bring your favorite limericks and dine on a traditionally Irish dinner. Adult Members, LCC Guests and Guests welcome.
Once a month or so, the Clubhouse is open for a cost effective, paper-plate buffet dinner from 5:30 – 8:30pm. Honor bar of beer and wine, most are family friendly and welcome guests as well. We try to coordinate these nights with evening racquets activities. Please check the Annual Calendar or website for the current schedule.
Work Day – last Saturday in April
Our annual spring work day is when club members come together to spruce up the club in advance of the summer season. After a morning’s work of mulching, planting, chopping and hauling, we gather for lunch under the redwoods. It’s always a glorious day to see your friends and volunteer to beautify the Club. Club members of all ages welcome.
Cinco de Mayo – the Friday before the 5th of May
Tennis mixer, tequila and tacos define this Mexican Fiesta – join us to play or cheer the players. Adults only, Members, LCC Guests, and Guests welcome.
Summer Opener – Second Saturday in May
One of our most festive events … welcoming summer by opening the Pool! This has been a black-tie event in the past, but has evolved to Cocktails and Dinner for Members and LCC Guests. This is a great way to greet friends old and new and say hello to summer.
Memorial Day BBQ – Memorial Day
A serious crowd pleaser for Club Members and LCC Guests of all ages, this catered extravaganza is a wonderful way to celebrate this holiday in our beautiful grove area.
Women Only BBQ – early June
“Ladies first” kicks off our summer BBQ season, with a potluck menu, no dudes, no kids. Fantastic! Members and LCC Guests only.
Family Campout – mid/late June
A few intrepid parents chaperon a BBQ and kids’ overnight at Madrone Meadow at the top of the trail behind the Paddle Courts. With any luck, singing and/or ghost stories will happen. One or Two Adult Members and kids welcome. Sign-up is limited - Club members and LCC Guests only.
Summer BBQ’s – Wednesdays from June to September, holiday weeks excluded
The cornerstone of social gatherings during the warmer months, these evenings are some of the Club at its best. You can organize a table with friends, or play it by ear and sit at the Redwood Table. The final Wednesday of the month is traditionally the “Tablecloth” BBQ – leave the cutlery at home and sign up for this catered buffet. All are for Members and LCC Guests. Please check the Annual Calendar for notes on which are Adults only, Children welcome, and Guests welcome.
Sunday Pool BBQ’s – Sundays from early June to mid-August
The mini version of our Wednesday BBQ’s – only because the grill is smaller and so is the seating area around the Snack Shack. The Pool remains open until 8:30pm, and you are welcome to bring dinner to enjoy – grilled or not. Members, LCC Guests and Guests welcome.
Fourth of July BBQ – July 4th
A great way to celebrate our Independence Day and held in conjunction with kids’ games at the pool, this one is nearly always a sellout. Past activities have included a Watermelon eating contest, Tug-of War, and the ever-popular corn-hole game … family fun for everyone! Members, LCC Guests and Guests of all ages welcome.
Labor Day BBQ – Labor Day
Another chance to enjoy the Club and let someone else do the cooking! Members, LCC Guests and children are welcome to dine al fresco as summer winds down. Members and LCC Guests of all ages.
Men Only BBQ – early September
This time it’s the ladies who are absent. What will the men get up to? One of the few events on the calendar that never produces any photos for the Club history … coincidence or by design? Adults only, Members and LCC Guests welcome.
Fall Work Day – September
If House and Grounds declares there is work to do, Members and LCC Guests assemble and execute the “to do” list to clean up our property before the rains begin. Lunch provided for those who sign-up.
Oktoberfest & Beer Pong – late October
A singular event – who wouldn’t want to be crowned Beer Pong Champion of the Club and quaff some of the finest Bavarian export? Lederhosen encouraged for the bold among Members, LCC Guests and Guests who are most welcome.
Holiday Decorating Party – first Friday in December
The perfect way to begin the Christmas season. As Alfonso and Claudia work their magic with the greenery and lighting all over the Clubhouse, we do the bidding of the Social Co-Chairs and Committee as we deck the Hall for the Holiday Parties to follow. Members, LCC Guests welcome.
Holiday Party – the first Saturday in December
Our Club is a truly magical place to celebrate the holidays. Once the decorations are up and the tree is illuminated it’s time to enjoy good company, spirits and food. We have switched from a Black-Tie sit down dinner to a Cocktail Party, but whatever the format, ‘tis the season to be merry! Adult Members and LCC Guests welcome.
Children’s Holiday Party – the second Saturday in December
Santa? Did someone say Santa? He arrives in high style courtesy of the Ross Fire Department and children on the Nice list – aren’t they all - get to tell him their wishes for Christmas. There is a magic show too, and helpful elves to make sure a good time is had by all Members, LCC Guests and visiting Family members as well.
Ladies Holiday Luncheon – the first or second Wednesday in December
A holiday classic that always sells out. We come together for lunch and merriment and to chat with Members, LCC Guests and women friends of all ages. And we ladies can talk!
Life Members Party – mid December
A special gathering for those who have reached vaulted status at our Club, this cocktail party is hosted by the Board of Directors and they each bring a menu item to make this evening sing. Club Members who are 75 and older and the Board of Directors welcome and encouraged.
Caroling Party – third Friday or Saturday in December
We wrap up our festivities on a high note – caroling around the tree in the Clubhouse, with a scrumptious buffet dinner and presenting an abridged version of Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” This party has taken on a life of its own and is fast becoming a favorite for all ages. Don’t miss it – who knows, you could be tapped for stage glory! Members, LCC Guests and Guests welcome.
